A son, a father, new friends, a lot of support and a ‘bit’ of money–those were the building blocks that got it all started. A big vision paired with focus and a commitment to giving back time and money to our users–and a lot of conviction and hard work. That’s how we got here, and today I’m very excited to announce that Mobile Data Labs, Inc., creator of MileIQ, is joining Microsoft.
Doing anything new is much easier when you’ve got great friends and collaborators to lean on. It’s been challenging in all the right ways, and it continues to be an amazingly rewarding journey. MileIQ has been the top-performing Finance app in the App Store and on Google Play since launch and now has more than a million happy users in the United States, who together have classified more than half a billion business miles. MileIQ saves customers hours in mileage logging every month and delivers an average deduction or reimbursement of more than $6,900 a year. We couldn’t be more pleased with the results we’ve helped customers achieve so far, and we’re just getting started.
By partnering with Microsoft, our horizon and momentum are now even bigger–and our ability to deliver excellent products, delightful experiences and personalized service is greater than ever. Under Satya Nadella’s leadership, Microsoft has been on a path of tremendous innovation; the people in the company feel it, the products show it and the market has responded. Microsoft’s ambition to reinvent personal productivity and business processes couldn’t be more aligned with our goals. With our shared passion and commitment to mobile productivity, the San Francisco-based MileIQ team aims to advance this mutual vision by continuing to build services for self-directed workers–services like MileIQ that are automated, intuitive and give users back time, money and peace of mind.
On behalf of our entire team, I want to extend our sincere gratitude to all of our investors, advisors, users and partners for the guidance and feedback that has been instrumental in shaping our service.
We also want to thank Microsoft for their belief in our vision, product and team, and their support in accelerating and expanding our mission. We are all thrilled to join you and extremely excited about the journey ahead.
When I look at all the ways we measure our success, the one that means the most to us is our users’ deep satisfaction with MileIQ. The entire Mobile Data Labs team is thoroughly committed to making sure MileIQ and our future products continue to provide great value to the people who use them, and we could not be more excited to get to work on this next chapter.
